It seems like every weekend I clean, clean, clean! It always looks nice for about two days, then the next weekend I have to do it all over again! Is it just me? How do you keep on top of it all?

I feel the same way. I get the house spotless and neat and within no time it gets messed up again and there are only 2 of us here! If DH leaves one more tool on the kitchen table I am going to choke him!!! When you walk in my from door you see my table and I like it to look nice. Men just don't get somethings!

Yes. I clean really good one day a week, but it's a mess within 2 days if I don't stay on top of it. My dh is the worlds worst about bringing in mud on his shoes and he will wait til the day I clean and he'll shave and get hair all over the bathroom...Grrrrrrrrr!!!

I do and redo, do and redo, etc. I clean the living room about 5 times a day. It used to be easy. Now with 4 kids, it never stays picked up for long. I do the best I can. I'd be happy with two days of it looking good.

I will NEVER be caught up. At least not this year. I am trying to keep 3 places up. I will be out of one of them this month. Then, I will just have 2 going. 1 house is our "main base house" but it is also under a state of remodel. The 2nd place is an upstairs of a house that I am renting while I work 5 hours from our main house. It seems as if things are never caught up and I never know where anything is.
Plus, with 2 teenage boys, 1 large and 2 small dogs and DH, I honestly don't know which way is up. Hopeing that when winter sets in, things will slow down abit.

But wonderful that you're remodelling. What are you having done? :)

The house was built in the 1920's. We are redoing all the electrical, plumbing, taking down all the lath & plaster walls and putting in insulation and new drywall. All new windows, new wood flooring. The whole place is getting a full gutting. 1 room at a time. (well, that was the plan, but DH was left alone for a week and things went wild)
The first thing we are refinishing is the entryway. All new drywall, new windows, revamping the ceiling into a raised ceiling, new light fixture, new slate tile floor. Then I get to go shopping for the bench, and coat hook furniture. I haven't decided just what I want yet. Will have to wait for the room to be finished before I get my inspiration.

That's awesome. We have an old slate floor. I still like it even though it's not new. It holds up well with kids and pets and is easy to clean.

You really are tearing right into things. Just the insulation and windows is huge. I'd like to get a new entryway light fixture. I keep looking but haven't found something I'm in love with yet. I'll take a pic of mine dust and all and post it to the gallery. It's hilariously old. It's definitely time to get something new up there.

I'm never "caught up" but I have learned that perfection isn't what I'm striving for. As long as things are just put where they go and there isn't visible dirt and dust, we're good.
