View Full Version : speaking of line drying clothes..
I just read this...
"You may find it hard to believe, but you can line dry clothes up North in the dead of winter, too. Your wet clothes will freeze when you hang them out at temperatures below freezing. But in dry northern weather, that ice will turn into vapor and the clothes will dry almost as quickly as in summer."

Just can't picture my fingers working those clothespins in the below freezing temps. I have a hard time signing my name to the cc receipt in the winter and that's inside a store, lol.

Isn't that interesting!!!!...I usually stop hanging my clothes out when it gets really cold, guess I'll have to try it...I know the Mennonites down the road hang their clothes out in all kinds of weather...Thanks Sara!!!

Well I've never seen them dry that quickly in our cold weather. It is true they do freeze, however it usually takes a couple days for them to dry frozen on the line. If you bring them in frozen, they dry in hours.
Living in the north, I don't see a whole lot of clothes hanging outside to dry during the dead of winter. I know there is no way I'm standing outside at 50 below and freezing my fingers off. It's a good way to get arthritis in your hands. Wonder if that guy hangs his clothes outside in winter.
