I guess if I could pick my favorite antique items here, I'd say my favorites are my teapots. I just love them.
What is your favorite antique item?

An oil lamp that belonged to my grandfather.
Right now I would have to say a pastry blender that belonged to my grandmother, it is very well used. ;)

Wish I had something from my family. The closet thing I have that brings back fond memories is a big bowl just like the one my Mom used to use for her summer salads. Also love our dining room set (was his grandmas)
From Jacks side of the family, a gold watch his grandfather recieved when he retired from Norton Co. and some pictures/paintings that belonged to his grandmother that she aquired while working as a missionary in Japan many many years ago. Those are hanging in our bedroom.:)
Silver baby rattle that went through all of Jacks brothers & sisters & our kids & theirs and will be passed on through the family.:)

We are blessed to have many unique things that have belonged to family members but my favourite antique is my grandmother's china cabinet. It was in shambles at one point and my dad lovingly restored it as a gift to my grandmother. When she died it was returned to my dad who gave it to me. I keep all some of my tea service in it as that was a favourite ritual for me and my grandmother since I was just a wee thing.

I have my mothers Mammy and Pappy salt and pepper shakers. They always used to sit on the stove while I was growing up. They give me a warm fuzzy feeling. :p
I have two favourites. My grandma's opal ring and my antique hope chest I got on my 16th birthday. Last year when my daughter turned 16 I past it down to her.

I have a few favourites. My most favourite is my 1880 sovreign holder and chain. DH bought it for me when I graduated university with honours. I have my mother's 21st birthday present that she gave me a few years before she died - it's a rose gold amethyst ring and matching pendant. Another is a French Victorian marquisite silver pin in the shape of a bow.

oh, how can you pick one favorite?
A few of mine are my dining room table. It is over 100 years old and has passed thru almost everyone in my family. I started this generations turn.
A shamrock teapot from my step-grandma. I admired it one day at her house and a few weeks later she gave it to me. This was such an act of kindness that I never forgot. And I do love the teapot!!!
My three teacups. Each one has a story behind it and a emotion.
A black cross that I got from my grandma (she has since passed). I dont' have much from her, but I never forgot her trying to get me to have religion, and therefore giving me this beautiful cross. People comment on it's beauty all the time.

Its hard to pick one thing. I'm lucky to have several old family things.
I have a mantle clock my great grandparents bought "for their kitchen" which I guess I will say is my favorite, today. They died in 1905 and 1910, so it has a good age on it.

My favorite antique is my Hoosier cabinet. I got it at a garage sale for $300( a good price!). I had been looking for one on ebay for a long time but with shipping they were just too expensive so I lucked out when DH spotted this one!

So much of what we have are antiques it's hard to choose. I can only narrow it down to two. The first is a porcelain doll given to me by a dear elderly friend. The doll is in pristine condition. This would be my favorite because of where it comes from . That is what got me started doll collecting. My second favorite is an entire printers desk -- intact with all the drawers. Bob bought it at an auction about 15 years ago. I actually use it to store my beads and other jewlery making supplies. This one would be my favorite based on usefulness.
