I have a canvas tote---sort of a basket where the kids can drop them off when they come indoors. It's just easier that way. I've tried to get them to tuck things in their sleeves, but that doesn't always work.

Michael tucks his into his sleeves. Dd puts her in her sleeves. Justin puts his anywhere. Most of the mitts and hats (Bob's and mine) are on top of my washing machine.

As to boots, they are stored by our fridge.

I wish I had a heated porch, however it's not so there is no way we can keep anything in there.

Oops I didn't talk about boots...the kids' boots are next to the tote and on a mat taken out especially during winter. Dave & I don't wear ours often, and when we do, they go next to the door too.

Right now I have a box. And I just went through it last night and there are 4 odd gloves. ugh

Odd gloves are fine if it they were left and right. Could at least use them for play. Ahh but that would be too easy for this house. LOL

We have tons of mittens. Way too many.

Zachary will be getting a new set of gloves for Christmas. IF I can even find a pair in this city of when it's gone it's gone.
