So, four years ago, when I was on maternity leave with Julia, I started writing a novel. I was home for six months with Julia and got quite a bit of it written. However, after six months, I went back to work and the book got shelved.

I've gotten back to it, recently, however, and have been powering through. However, after re-reading it, I decided to change it from a first-person perspective to a third-person perspective. The problem? I was already on page 79 and now am going through and changing every "my" to "his" and so on and so on and so on. It is so tedious, it's completely taking away my motivation. I'm only on page 27 of the revision. Unfortunately, I can't just do a "find" and "replace with" because it changes the words wherever they are found. For example, "mommy" would become "momhis." See the problem?

I want to keep going, but I'm getting bored with this part of the editing. The good thing is, it's reminding me exactly what I've written so that I can make sure my ending matches my beginning!

Wish me luck!

Just remember at your book signing when it is my turn that I knew you when!

Good Luck and oh yeah...do you have a pen name?

I can't wait to hear that you've finished it. Is there another book in the making seeing as your getting bored doing this? It might be good to put it aside for a bit and start the next one.

Its going to be great to say "we knew her first" when those books of yours start being published.

That's very exciting that you have gone back to work on it. Revisions are tedious but it will pay off in dividends when you get it published. What genre are you writing in?

Keep plugging away Amy! Lot of struggle to realize a dream sometimes, keep the faith.:)

I'm excited for you and am happy to see you working on it. It's a lot of work, but making these changes is something that will make a big difference overall.

I thought of you the other day when I got creeped out watching a show and realized another of those things that gets me feeling creeped out. :D It was about a pregnant woman being attacked and her baby taken from her body. Did you see that episode on SVU? There's not a lot that makes me squirm, but man that made me twitchy.

Good luck with the revisions Amy.

I've always wanted to write a novel one day.

How is it coming?

I don't think I'd be brave enough to do something that long. I've just done poetry and short stories.

Good luck!
