View Full Version : What would you do with an extra room?

Well, on FV I have posted several times about our adoption process. Basically we have been trying to adopt through DHS for about a year and a half, and they keep losing things, messing up our paperwork, etc. and we are throwing in the towel. I am heartbroken, but its time to move on with our lives. Apparently it is just not supposed to happen now.

So, we now have an extra room (the room that was supposed to be a kids room). If we don't use it, it will become storage for stuff I don't need to hang on to. I need to figure out what to do with it. Maybe a music/craft room? I could set up my sewing machine. Maybe a reading room? I just don't know. What would you do with an extra room? BTW, there is no room in the budget for furniture.

I look forward to your responses!

I'm sorry the adoption process has hurt you so. Big big hug to you.

If I had a room to do what I wanted I'd turn it into a library with comfy chair, couch, table, bookcases, flowers, good light and lots of books. Want nice windows with crossventilation & lacy curtains too. I'd do it all with things I bought at garage sales.

I echo what Darlene said. An actual room for my books??? What a dream!

Maybe I will have to buy more books! :D

I tried to move my big club chair into that room, but it won't fit through the hallway. I'll just use the rocker thats in there, I guess. I'm putting up and storing some of the kids things I've been collecting and will get them back out when we have kids of our own, after DH graduates college in '08. I think I'm going to set up my sewing machine, my books, and a few other things in there for now. I purchased a keyboard (the musical kind) from ebay a couple days ago, so when that comes in, I will set it up in there.

Thanks for the recommendations!
