View Full Version : Home Decor...do you make your own...
or do you buy everything?
I tend to make everything from (sewing) drapes/curtains, tablecloths, napkins, placemats, appliance covers, potholders. I hope to figure out how to make fitted throw covers for my furniture this summer. I have the fabric, just need to get to it.
I also crochet doilies, rugs and afghans.
These are the things I love to do, so it just comes naturally to me.
So, do you make or purchase your home decor items?

Buy or a friend makes them :D. I wasn't born with the creative gene and haven't been able to locate it let alone nurture it.
I have great ideas to make things, but haven't made much. Not much embellishment in my home at the moment. A bit of a clean slate here. :)

I try to make everything like you do Dee. Bob also helps in that if I want anything made from wood, he'll make it for me. Right now he is making me a quilt hanger. I haven't made a doilie yet, but its on my list to do. I'll be calling for help on that one I'm sure Dee.
Its just a part of who I am.

I'm just taking my time teaching myself to make things. I've made a skirt and a shirt and a baby quilt. I also made a curtain door for my closet. I've got another smaller window I have to make a curtain for. Babysteps.
I would love to make my own kitchen linens. Tablecloth, placemats and napkins. I'd love to have a beautiful linen set with a beautiful centerpiece.
Bright Blessings!
