I love Halloween because of all the scary movies that come on tv and the spookiness of fall, however, I also love Thanksgiving, because it also means fall to me, and that is my favorite time of year.

I know Christmas is a big favorite, but for me, it's just too crazy and I rarely get to sit back and really enjoy the holiday. Maybe when the kids are older and we make them come to us. :D

Christmas here too. I hate shopping, so I do all mine prior to Thanksgiving. That gets all the things I don't like to do out of the way and gives me time to eat yummy Christmas food.

I do however do not enjoy the shopping part with all the crowds.....and I cringe at the thought of paying those prices when I just know boxing day won't be far around the corner and alot of the things you can get for 1/2 the price.

Last year I just bought the kids .....I think it was 3 or 4 things and of course their stocking stuffers and then we went out on boxing day. Last year was the first time we did that as our kids are older now, not little and waiting for toys.This way they can pick up a couple of special sweaters...stuff like that....not a whole lot though :)

One year I started shopping in jan. and every month I picked up a gift for everyone.....it was crazy the amount of gifts under the tree :eek: ........I loved the fact of being prepared and shopping the sales throughout the year but I got carried away...........I didn't want my children to forget the meaning of Christmas.

I love when the snow is falling softly down on Christmas Eve and the Christmas songs are playing and the smell of freashly baked goodies in our home not to mention we are all safe,healthy and together:) .

I do however do not feel the complete peacefulness till about 6pm Christmas Eve.....cause then I know that I am finished with all the shopping and going out and about whether I think the kids need something else or not LOL!.
