View Full Version : our porch
is scraped, primed, and the fresh paint is started. :D We're going to do the window trims, front porch, and garage soon. I can't believe how much nicer the porch looks with just fresh paint. It's really amazing.
We're going to put some outdoor carpet there too.
Then it's time to prime the inside and paint. I'm not sure how many rooms we'll do, but one thing is for sure...we've got one stunning Picasso to paint over in Zachary's room that's been quite the work of art for well over a year.
I'd like to remove some wallpaper in some rooms, but not sure if we'll tackle that or not yet.

Good for you! Fresh paint really can be a cure-all sometimes.
Wow, that sounds so homey :)
Our porch is in need of fresh paint and the railings and some of the floor boards need replacing....UGH.
Dh a couple of weeks ago actually raised it up a bit as it had started to sag. Our back deck needs painting too.
You should show us pictures:D
We got the carpet today, but it's still rolled in the garage. I feel shameful for spending so much on it. Who knew it would cost that much? I sure didn't.
I know it will look soooo much nicer and finally a porch that is inviting instead of a catchall.
We ended up tearing down the old porch screening and putting in new screen too.
The guys are working on window panes now. Scraping the chipped parts and putting in new window glazing. Our windows are so old that we have to replace 10 small windows from what has cracked from scraping. Our house was built in the 50's and our windows are single paned. *sigh* Scrape, glaze, prime, and paint them.
Then we're painting the front railing, front porch, front door, and garage door.
Then it's painting the inside all next week. We have some repair work to do before priming and painting.
We filled the mini dumpster easily and are renting it AGAIN.
I still have weeding to do too. :( Then when the guys worked on the back porch they had to trample my lillies against the back porch to be able to reach and put in the screening. I never really liked them much so will dig them up and move them to a bare spot and plant some nice big hostas there instead. :D
Are we almost done yet?

Man, you're doing a whole house once over! I'm tired just thinking of it. That's like a 10 year process for me, lol. Enjoy it when you get it done!
