to organize........I am in a pickle and just cringe at the thought....I do the kitchen and it always seems to pile up as I finish wiping the counter, I just turn around and wham......it is sooooo frustrating and by the time I get the kitchen finished I don't have any desire to do anything else! ( I know alot of us don't have that desire either)

The living room is pretty good, bathroom upstairs is good....my bedroom well I guess I should get at that.....the kids rooms are good and the family room isn't too bad......it is the rest of the house. the closets, kitchen, spare room, work shop and downstairs bathroom........

I really need some help and support :(

I wish I knew how to help you, but I have the same problem... i don't even have children! It seems i get the house nice, and then i get sick or hurt for a few days and its all back to the way it was :( good luck, and if you find a motivation, lemme know, i need it too!

I get out one of my various decluttering, cleaning books and read a chapter, by then I always feel like cleaning!

Thanks gals :) .I actually got the kitchen and bathrooms decluttered and tidied up and have actually been keeping it up for about a week now :D . I make sure the kids help too with picking up after themselves;)

I do have a couple of books which I could read for motivation, I still have my bedroom and closets to do

That infamous fine line motivates me. Get's to a certain point, I can't stand it & then I'll do something about it.

well, the motivation of my sister in law moving back (whom the family feels is entirely infallible) has made me want to get decluttered and clean! she might be staying with us, and so i need to get the third bedroom cleaned out anyways :)

Darlene, that infamous fine line is hitting here too......I wouldn't even want to show you my kitchen now!

I told the kids that I am making a list now for chores they can do when I am at work for the day, not a whole lot just enough to keep them focused lol I just want dd 13 to start picking up after herself and she had her friends over who left empty yogurt sp? cups on the table and dirty dishes and 1/2 empty....or is it 1/2 full  glasses of pop/juice.......wrappers etc.....sheeshhhhh

My dd 13 is the worst one for this, she was home with two of her friends all day (other dd was at her friends) and this is what I came home too....she didn't even empty the dishwasher which I had previously emptied and then I refilled and as I told her , I turned it on  all she had to do was empty that load to put away.

I am not going to call nanny 101........I am going to be the nanny 101:mad:

AGierald, that would get me motivated for sure too ;)

Thanks gals, you are all so great :)

Bee, I follow the flylady method. It takes a while to slowly get organised, but since most things are done in 15 (to 60 mins tops) intervals it doesn't seem overwhelming. Gradually it adds up and my household has never been this well organised - ever. There are still a few areas that need close attention (garage, shed, storage area), but I don't fear unexpected visitors any more.

When I've hit a slump, I tend to pull out my Southern Living and Traditional Home magazines to look at. That seems to motivate me to get up and get going.

I read the decluttering books from the library. Especially Don Aslett's "For Packrats Only". Great motivator. I can barely sit through a section when I have to get up and do something.
