Nice garden surprise

Was getting ready to plant some mesclun mix lettuce seeds in the oak barrel I like to grow it in and saw lettuce sprouts galore. Last years lettuce reseeded itself and I have bunches coming up. What a nice surprise.

I love it when that happens! Self seeded vegetables adapt to your conditions and you'll have healthier plants as a result. It's one of the many benefits of growing non-hybrid seeds. :)
