I know silly, but I saw a butter "roller" and then knew it was a butter "curler" and then found out how to use this nifty little tool. :D Which brought me to learning that butter wasn't even packaged into neat single sticks until the 50's.

Another one of those things that make you go Hmmm...
That is a pretty neat gadget! So Sara, do you already have one, or is that the next 'must have gadget' to get? :D
I did know that butter didn't always come in sticks. LOL When I was a kid, it always came in a 1 pound block only. I also remember my mom talking about during the war years and rationing. She said her grandmother would get lard and have a packet of coloring to add to it, that was her job, mixing the coloring in to make it more appetizing I guess. :(

Jacks Mom talked about kneeding the pack of coloring with the butter too. She still calls butter/margaine oleo.
LOL Darlene, it was always Oleo in my house too growing up! :D
