Help please!!! I went to the gas station yesterday and had them put gas in my little portable gas tank. The guy put too much gas in it and it spurted all over the carpet in the back of my van all the way home. Do any of you know how to get this smell out of my van? I can't even stick my head in it without getting a major headache immediately!

Try white vinegar diluted 50/50 with water. Miracle worker.

White vinegar works on ALOT of odors. Another thing to try, but not too close together in time would be sprinkling it with baking soda.

Do I just pour the vinegar/water mixture on the area that has the gas or what? And then do I just let it dry and hope the smell is gone or do something else? Thanks for your help! :)

I'd put it in a pray bottle and spray thoroughly. You don't want the carpet so soggy that it will mildew, but you want it fairly damp feeling.

Leaving the windows open for a few days will help too.;) Good luck!
