What are your plans to make everyone feel at home?

I love your by-line as a respones to your own question... yep, that would be how I try to make people comfortable - Live well, Laugh often, Love much. Hope the rest of you do likewise, and if anyone has trouble with the laughing part - just let me know - I'll send you stories at my own expense (or at least the expense of my dignity) that often keep people in stitches. My life is one great comedy!

Lots of good food and sweet tea tossed in with love n laughter! As long as the hostess is happy and the food n drink are plentiful, the rest will happen--so I think anyway ;)

Here's my blog entry on houseguests:

We have guests arriving today. I'm cleaning away. Great excuse for new shower curtains and bath towels. :D

Great blog!
I also like frerangers response. I've seen several friends stress themselves out trying to make their home different for a visit, and then not feel at home themselves. I think it is important to stay comfortable during a visit, and am lucky to be part of a family where everybody is comfortable saying "I'm going to stay at a hotel this time" if they don't like something about the arrangements, and the person not being stayed with is comfortable with it too. In my case, some people don't stay because I have indoor cats that they are allergic to, with one of my sisters it is a smoking husband that some people don't want to stay in the house with, and one sister has the ideal house for guests - so nobody ever stays at a hotel there, though I have offered too in case she gets tired of hosting.
