I'm waiting for some new towels to come in from Amazon. I had a hard time picking a color, since our shower curtain, rug, and hand towels are bright red with "modern" red stripes. I went with dark blue - I'm hoping it doesn't look too much like an Americana theme.

What color are your towels?

I have some that are white and some are dark blue as I did have an american theme bathroom before we did the remodel..now it's just a primitive country bathroom but the colors of the towels still work as the walls are half cream and half blue.

All of our towels are white. Growing up we never had nice towels, so when I moved out on my own I went crazy buying all kinds of different colors. Now I've reached a point where I only get white towels, sheets, and dinner plates. I just find it easier that way.

The walls in our bathroom are a super pale green so I got sand color towels to go with. Looks nice.:)

In the master bath we have dark blue and yellow. In the normal household bath (?) that dd and company use we have cream and pink flowers, with an occational Care Bear one thrown in when dd uses hers!

All of our towels are hunter green, burgundy, or white.... all wedding gifts (nearly 8 years ago) that went with the bathroom in our first apartment. Those colors have worked in every bathroom since then, too in some combination-- sometimes only the green were used, sometimes only the burgundy.

The first set of nice towels that I bought were white - then I realized that they stain really easily (I dye my hair, and maybe this is TMI, but sometimes during that time of the month, I have a hard time keeping white towels spotless). So I really wanted something dark. I love hunter green, but I figured with the red it would look too Christmassy.

My walls are called Platinum... my fixtures are brushed nickel... my rug is steel... the floor tiles are shades of gray... the hand towel is grafite, shower curtain is a sheer white with beads and sequins (and the rings look like the big tearshapped baubles of a chandelier) ... My body towels... have Spiderman on them (still haven't gotten around to the new ones, we just finished the bathroom remodel) but, I am thinking of a red or a cream color.

You could mix in some lighter blue and some pink if you're trying to get away from the americana look. Or some black and gray would do it in a highly sophisticated way.

I have red and dark green with floral stuff to keep it from looking like Xmas.
