Since one of the email list I subscribe to is asking us to pamper ourselves as a new habit for December, I was wondering if anyone would be up for a Simple Indulgence Challenge (like the Frugal Challenge or Emergency Fund Challenge on FV). Each day you would post any simple indulgences that you did.

I'll start..

Wednesday, December 5th...
*Made a cup of coffee from scratch by grinding the beans, using a french press, and adding Ghiradelli Hot Chocolate mix to make a Cafe Mocha
*Used a deep conditioning Hair Treatment in the shower

I decided to make bluberry bread, after all nothing like hot bread straight from the oven on a cold rainy day:D

My indulgence is flavored creme for my coffee. And tomorrow I am making an apple pie. Also, I love to have candlelight in the evening...that is a big one for me....

Man, I'm not doing so hot on posting on my own challenge. I'm going to start a new thread in January and try and make it a monthly thread.

For today (12/30)
*Used a Self-Heating Clay Face Masque
*Ate two pieces of Christmas candy

My simple indulgence is taking time to write. I know it's not as wonderful as a nice soothing bath or as relaxing as reading a book, but I've got to get back into the groove of making time for what I enjoy.

Since having my little one, I've found that all my little systems of organization kind of went out the door. She's closing in on being one yr old soon and it's time for me to get back on track. :)

I set aside a lot of things that I enjoy doing like thrift store shopping, reading, writing, and crafts. I barely did any gardening last year too.

This was the year that I had to accept that I could not do everything I thought I could and that was a new lesson for me. I'm thankful for that. I am much better about balancing and prioritizing now and accepting my own limitations.

Simple indulgences are still vital though, so I'm making a pact to make time for it.

Many of you know what it's like to have a newborn/infant. It's the most wonderful experience and joy, but it's very easy to fall into forgetting about yourself in the process.

One of my indulgences for 2007 will be at the gym....I have been getting up and working out in the a.m. and coming home to take my shower, get ready for work, etc. However, what I really miss about that is going to the whirlpool, the dry heat room, sauna and pool. So, I am going to incorporate that into my day as well and just head to work straight from the gym...:) I'll just pack all of my stuff and get ready and head straight to work...it's right on the way!

I like this idea! Today's indulgence was internet time, but I think I'm going to try Julie's New Year's Eve plan out tonight, so - Bath Book Tea & CD (kinda has a rhythm to it, eh?)

Ok, so I'm not good at every-day challenges, but some-day commitments work out ok. Tonight I'm going to leave work earlier than usual (ok, so I get off at 5:00 - this is sort of winding down time) and go to Choir practice for the first time this year. I also ate a piece of chocolate with Strawberries and Pepper in it - kind of odd but good!
