Hi, I have recently been put on a low fat AND low carb (no sugar/alcohol, little white flour or potatoes) diet for triglycerides - since most of my traditional "special" foods involve chocolate, do any of you have recipes that are for things I might be able to eat? I'm getting better at the everyday stuff, but still have trouble with treats.

Maybe this site can help you out Edna. How's your diet going?

Thanks. This looks like a good site.
The diet is slipping. The weather has been atrocious here for a couple of weeks, and I tend to react to sun shine deficiency. I'm trying to just keep the reactions limited, and not be as rigid as I was, because I think I'm less likely to lose control and binge. I've lost 10 pounds since the 9th of November (not overly impressive, but at least its in the right direction.) The diet's purpose has more to do with blood composition, but weight loss is the only indicator that doesn't require doctor's orders. I'm to see him again soon complete with new blood tests.

Hang in there Edna! 10lbs lost is wonderful. I had a friend who was very much effected when the winter came and there was less sun. Winters were very hard for her and boy did she feel better when spring & summer came.
Hope your tests come back with more info and that you find yourself feeling better with each passing day.
