Okay ladies I've notice now that Red Heart has yard with "no dye lot". Why is that?

I'm asking that because I purchased 2 white, same time, same brand and with no dye lot. And yet I'm convinced the one white is a bit off from the other white.

Has anyone noticed that or do you find the yarn with no dye lots are all the same color?

I'm with you on that one CJ. I don't really believe there is no dye lot and next time you are in the store, look at the labels, why do the still have different numbers on them if there is 'No Dye Lot"????

I agree. I think that yarns that do have a dye lot can vary greatly. It can be a real pain to go to get yarn and not have enough of a dye lot for a project. So I think the yarn companies came up with the no dye lot to make it easier. I agree that there is some variance, but in general it is slight on no dye lot yarns and doesn't effect the finished product.

No dye lot can also mean there are no variations of the color. But yes, the shades can always be different if they are not made at the same time. It's about impossible to get different batches the exact same color.
