I just thought I'd share my current method for doing my son's laundry. Of course, he's only 3 months old right now so he doesn't get that dirty (it's all spitup and poopy stains) so I may have to revise it, but it's taken me a few months to get this down and I wanted to share it.
I keep a laundry basket and a bucket next to his changing table. If the clothing just has spit-up stains or no stains, it goes into the laundry basket. If it has poopy stains, I spray it with Spray N Wash and put it in the bucket. The morning that I'm going to do laundry, I fill the bucket with the hottest water than comes out of my tap and add 1 or 2 scoopfuls of Oxyclean (depends on how much water I add, and that depends on how many items there are). I let it soak until the water is cold, or overnight if I forget. Then I wring it out and put it in with the rest of the laundry.
I've found that 90% of the time this gets rid of the stain completely, and the rest of the time it is at least 75% gone.
The only thing I'm struggling with right now that this method isn't working on is his vitamins. It's a liquid vitamin (Poly-Vi-Sol or something like that - I got the store brand) and it leaves a yellow-brownish stain like iodine if he spits some of it out. Anyone have any ideas?
