View Full Version : What small appliances do you have?

We have:
a toaster (two slices, fits bagels)
a food scale
a blender
a crockpot
a one cup coffee maker
a Tater Twister (don't ask! Yes, I can make Curley Fries)
a Nicer Dicer
We only keep the toaster, food scale, and coffee maker on the counter. Other than the coffee maker, the appliance we actually use the most is the Nicer Dicer. One of our friends accidentally bought two of them from a late night informercial (long funny story there) and asked us if we wanted one. I said yes although I almost fell over when I opened the box and saw the invoice for $80. I wouldn't pay $80 for it, but it comes in really handy for making soup and cutting up potatoes for mashed or boiled potatoes.
Oh my, guess I have quite a few, but then again I've have a few more years on you. ;)
1. toaster (does bagels as well) gets a daily work out from dh
2. drip coffee maker (only gets used when we have a lot of company) otherwise our glass percalator (for the stove) gets used mulitple times a day. :)
3. bread maker - gets used when I get the urge, then it may stay out for weeks at a time ROFL
4. mini chopper - this is fairly new, dh bought it for himself and hasn't used it yet, on the other hand I have used it several times and wonder how I ever did without it.
5. All-in-one Oster mixer, blender, food processor, grinder. I have had this for many many years and only get it out 1-2 times a year, mainly at canning and Christmas time. Canning I use the food processor to chop up all the onions and cukes for pickles (enormous time saver!), the mixer and grinder at Christmas for cookies and grinding nuts. Rarely use the blender at all.
6. Hand mixer, this I use when making cakes and cookies etc... the rest of the time.
7. Coffee grinder - this hasn't ground coffee in a long time, but when I have a sick kitty it gets a work out grinding up kitten chow to make up my special mix for sick babies. LOL
8. Microwave - now this baby I don't know how I would live without! I defrost lots of things, reheat and a few things I actually cook in it.
That is all I can think of right now. I don't have a can opener I either use the manual one on the wall or a hand held one. Just the joys of living in the country where you never know if you will have power to open a can. LOL
