On a different message board, one of the ladies asked that we come up with a shopping list and meal ideas for feeding a specific family without going over $313 a month(the amount of food stamps the government will give them.)
Here's what I've come up with for one month, assuming that the family does not have any babies who are still on baby formula, and they buy everything generic when available. These prices are based on the ones found at Walmart, but most stores have their store brand items for around the same prices. I know I've over-estimated a few of them, but I'd rather over-estimate than under-estimate. This will work for a family of 6 or smaller.
