I collect teapots. When I was younger I would just buy them willy nilly but now that I am older and smarter I don't buy any at all! I went through and got rid of the ones that had no value and sentimental value and got a small nice personal collection.

I know that every once in a while--it may be a few years but someone in my family will give me one as a gift. This year my dd got me one for Mother's day.

A teapot to treasure.

What do you collect and how do you control the sheer volumn of the collection?

I used to collect tea pots. I have a few Hall, but mostly Royal Albert. One of my Royal Albert tea pots isn't very old, but is rare. I love that one.

I used to collect as a hobby and business. My favorite collection was paperweights (of all things) I don't collect much of anything anymore. I have quite a cookbook collection. I've slowed down on collecting them.

I collect milkglass, depression glass and vintage linens. Our house is small and cozy so I am trying to pare down what I have to the few best items. It's hard to let go of things though!

I used to own quite a bit of depression glass. At the moment, I have a mixed set of amber patrician and madrid glassware. I have a few open lace pieces ie. pedestal fruit bowl, cake plate, platter. I also own quite a few vases. I broke one of my Fenton lamps and was heartbroken. To get a set was a ton of work. I got the shade in a separate place from the base of the lamp.
It was green and in the poppy pattern.

I've recently taken interest in collecting mugs. Well, I'm a coffee lover. Hmm, right now I still don't need some form of "control" because I'm just starting.
