the laundry ball goes round and round

I haven't bought a downy ball in a long time and recently bought one again. I love that thing. I don't know why. My logical side thinks it's absolutely ridiculous. But my shiny object side thinks it's fabulous. LOL

What do you think about the laundry ball?

I've actually never tried it. Does it dispense the softener at just the right time? I have a dispenser in my machine (but rarely use it), so I'm not sure if it would serve the same purpose?

I like it because I don't have to clean my dispenser. Otherwise, it doesn't really have any large benefit over using regular softener. But yes, it dispenses at the right time. The washer spin causes it to pop open. For anyone that doesn't have auto dispenser, it would save them the time of running to add fabric softener. I read they're not good for HE washers though.
