I've been needing pots and pans for a number of years, making do with what I have. One pot has no handles, one pot is so tiny I can't put anything in it to cook. The Dutch oven pot is the only thing in good shape.

I've been watching for the right price. I wanted a good sale, one where I would be happy with. I love the Kitchen Aid pots & pans, in fact pretty much anything made by them.

Today at Canadian Tire and only from 7 a.m. until noon - well the Kitchen Aid pots were on sale for 70% off. I phoned to see if they had any and if they would put one set aside for me. Yes they did, no they wouldn't put one aside.

Well I fed the kids lickity split and we headed into the city. I got the set at 70% off. And the best part, they are a gift from the boys. :xmastree: Now the box has to sit under the tree until Christmas day. Makes no difference to me, I can wait to use them. They will be well used on Christmas day.

It pays to wait.

Sweet :D

You just described my pots & pans. Time for new ones here too, but I have so many other things I need to buy/replace/repair first.

Michelle, it just got to the point I didn't have a choice. Whenever anyone comes over for a meal it's so tough because I want to cook a few extra veggies and I can't - just no pots to do it in. When the handle finally broke off the one pot that about did it. I was so glad to get them at 70% off, however I think it would have had to happen anyways. I could just see that pot slipping out of my hand as I tried to drain something.

Now I can't wait to use them.

That's an excellent deal and perfect timing. I love KA's line. I won't need pots and pans for a while over here. But I've been slowly adding oven pieces here and there though. Tossed out just about every plastic piece and replaced with casserole type storage containers that can go from oven to fridge.

Sara, we've been busy tossing plastic things too. I've gone to glass bakeware and I'm loving it.

When my next door neighbor moved, she gave me some nice corning ware pieces. They all have glass lids. I love them. They're in smaller sizes so are perfect for leftovers and they're rectangular, so stack nicely if needed. :)

I found a few vision ware pieces (thrift store and garage sales) that are nice too. They're the purple colored glassware. Those are round, but are really nice, too.

For oven ware, I have 3 Le Creuset pieces that I love. I use them all the time. They're heavy and I don't like that, but they're so easy to clean and I love how meat cooks in them. I figure once a year, I'll add an additional piece.

What I could use are a nice set of skillets. ugh
