Any renovating or redecorating plans for the new year?

We plan on getting the decorating done in our home in the next year. Our plans are to redecorate, do some renovations and then sell (if the economy doesn't get worse). I love my home, however we want to downsize.

We've made a list of what needs doing in each room. When we start, it will be one room at a time and only paying with cash for all that we need. It may take longer than we expect (because of cash flow), however we are determined to get it done in 09.

I don't have any plans for this upcoming year. We did plan to redo the bonus room (room above the garage that's not used because it needs work) but when Gabe lost his job, it definitely changed those plans. It will get done eventually because we really have to do it in order to fit everyone in this house. LOL

We also need a new roof. :(

But no pretty decorating planned. Just repairs that need to be made.

I am hoping to re-do our living room...rip out the horrible carpet and install hardwood. New couch/loveseat/chair--whatever we decide when the time comes. Paint too.

In the kitchen I'd love to install granite countertops too, but I'm unsure of the cost at this point. I've got paint samples on the way from Benjamin Moore to see if I like any.

And eventually...hopefully within the next 18 mos, we'll be having the hardwood floors in the kitchen, sewing/computer room, and hallways refinished.

All of this is dependent on how well Dave's company does and if he'll need to take a pay cut due to poor performance.

Michelle, we plan on putting hardwood floors in to. The rug in our living room is an ugly pink and the rugs in the bedrooms are even worse (although in pretty good shape). I can't wait to get the flooring done. Bob will do it himself which will save costs, however it might take a whole lot longer to do.

Yet i m not deciding my plans..............i m just thinking about that.
but i really like all urs plans...but now i can take ideas from that plans also..................so thank u guys for sharing ur idea
