Well, after reading the article that was posted here the other day I realized that part of my malaise was that I live in my Lee jeans/jean shorts and a t-shirt with something printed on it. Now, I love my lees and my shirts, but I thought about the part that said the woman dresses to go to work because home is her job.

So, I had to go to Walmart today to get DD#1 a white tshirt for school. I decided to get some unfrumpy things for myself. I found a cute sundress - black with red flowers - to wear to church. I got a capris set - hot pink with white tropical flowers and flip flops, 3 skorts, and 2 tops. I recently got 2 nice chiffon skirts off of ebay. Since this Sunday is my last time to work in the baby room at church, I can once again wear skirts and dresses and nicer shoes!

I also got 2 new pairs of floral pjs. I love my pjs. I have some that don't feel good - so they need to go. But these are nice - white with a tiny floral print.

This wasn't in my budget, but I needed something to pick me up and make me feel less like a mommy blob! Now, to just dry my hair and put on some make up! LOL!

Cheryl, good for you! I just went and bought some new clothes too! Instead of just wearing them when I go to church or work I am starting to "dress up" everyday and do my hair (still can't bend to the makeup). I feel so much more productive!

I get things like that from time to time. It does make you feel better. I'm mostly frumpy dressed also though.

I have a lot of makeup, but don't get to wearing it much. My kids mostly find it and rub it everywhere including walls.

Have fun,
Debbie

LOL! My DD#2 has decorated several walls in our home. She has used markers, crayon, sidewalk chalk, nail polish and lipstick. When someone comments (because I figure there is NO point in painting yet!) I just tell them she works in all medium! :D

I think you have to feel good about yourself when you look in the mirror or you will suffer in spirit too. You need to take that extra 10 minutes to do hair and make-up so that you are happier and more self-confident in everything, including dealing with your children.
