A good way to have some indoor fun with the kids is to prepare a rainy day picnic (we've had rain the last few days).

Spread a quilt on the floor of your living room when ready to serve.

For drinks:

Mix your favorite pop or gingerale with your favorite koolaide. Add a number of dips of ice cream with an ice cream scoop.

For fingerfood/dip: Cut fruit into pieces or separate into sections. Use and orange or two, tangerine or two, banana cut in pieces, pear cut into slices that can be dipped, apple cut in slices.

To make the dip, melt marshmallow cream in a bowl in microwave, add a heaping tablespoon of sour cream or philadelphia cream cheese and stir well.

Sandwiches: Either use crackers or small pieces of bread, ham, cheese.

Kids love this stuff and it is a nice change for a meal for adults too. My girls like to use boxes with a scarf over them for a table.

We've done indoor "camping" in the familyroom and lit a fire and toasted marshmallows. The kids LOVE it. We drape a comforter over the table and make a little fort.

Kids just love "parties" and picnics. I should do an indoor picnic tonight. My husband has class tonight and we usually do something different since it's just us three. I call it "Crazy Wednesday" and typically we have breakfast for dinner, but a picnic would be a lot of fun. :)
