View Full Version : Calling all needlework artists!
Tell us what you have been making lately? :)
I recently finished a baby blanket using Bernat's Baby Coordinates yarn. WOW, this stuff is wonderful to work with and oh soooooo soft! :D
I was commissioned by a friend to make this for an upcoming baby shower she is attending.
The more I look at that blanket, the more I'm thinking that maybe I should have another baby just to wrap in that blanket. Just kidding! Though I do love the blanket.
As for me, I'm still working on scarves and trim for denim purses using the knifty knitter loom. I've found the trim I can make on the loom looks perfect on denim. Kind of a teenage look. Hoping to make several and sell them later on. The trim is quick but the scarves take me forever.

I love the blanket!
I need to get started on some cross stitch soon. While I was organizing my utility cabinets yesterday I found 4 cross stitch kits (I knew I had them, just haven't unpacked them until we got the cabinets ready for storage) that I bought at Hobby Lobby (on clearance for $1 each - these are the big kits that are reg. price $25 or so!) when I was on vacation 3 years ago! There is one of a couple of orca whales that I want to do for ds's room.
Thanks ladies! Pat you should have it soon! ;)
Oh Kim, I can't wait to see the orca cross stitch! :)
Pat, don't forget to post pics when you get more handbags done! :)

Heres what I've been working on.
The first one, I finished last weekend. It took awhile to get done.
The second picture is the pattern and the shell pattern I taught myself from the net and used around the afghan rather than tassles.
The third picture is the new afghan I've started.
Dee I'm getting hooked on crocheting!! :D
WOW, great job CJ! I love all of them! :D

I love the baby blanket Dee! It's so pretty. :)
CJ, I didn't realize you had been crocheting. I love all of your afghans and especially the new one you are working on. :)
CJ, that is the same stitch I used for the baby blanket, except I crocheted through both loops all the time. :)

So you just did a sc through both loops or a double crochet through both loops. Wow can you believe it, I actually know what Dee is talking about here. :D
Carolyn that is my first afghan I tackled. The one I'm doing now is my second. I started when Dee did the tutorial at the village and then went from there. I'm really beginning to enjoy it now that I can figure out a few more stitches and the instructions.
Yep, that's all I did and I have to say that is my most favorite stitch! :D

I'm working on a prayer shawl for a very dear elderly friend. She loves lime green so I bought some great yarn and showed it to her husband for approval. He loved! Hoping to be finished by the weekend!

I have a knitted pullover started. With health issues and kids, I haven't been doing a whole lot of crafts lately.
