I had a c-section when I had my older dd back in Dec. 96. My carotid artery had burst and made a blood clot to protect itself....we didn't know it at first, but found out a year and a half later so I had carotid artery replacement to put a vein from my upper thigh/hip area in its place, summer 1998. Then in November of 2003, I had my left thyroid removed for a giant goiter.

I still should have spinal surgery for scoliosis, but have not had it done.

I had 4 laparascopic things on my tummy/reproductive system. Then had a C-section when my twins were born --- DD was foot first and was not going to turn around. Had a spinal for that. The other 4 joyful events I had general anesthesia -- yuk.

Dee and Debbie -- you've both had a rough time. I hope all is better for both of you!

A D&C many years ago, and most recently (Jan. 31st) an abdominal hyserectomy removing both the uterus and cervix, along with both ovaries and tubes, removal of several cysts and lot's of fibroids and my appendix for good measure LOL. I still tire very easily but I'm coming along. I have had other things done but they were all fairly minor.

I had laser surgery to remove a pyogenic granuloma from my lip with my first pregnancy, I had surgery to replace a torn ligament in my knee (most painful thing ever!!!), and a D&C type operation to remove my IUD when it corkscrewed into the top of my uterus.

I had surgery for the first time when I was about 17 ( a congential abnormality) this was my first introduction to Hospitals, & it was also when I decided I wanted to be a Nurse :)

Since then I have had way too many operations so I have seen "Both sides of the Hospital Bed" ;)

I joke that I have so many scars that you could play "Snakes & shutes"(ladders) on me

After my last operation My wound burst open at home and the Bathroom looked like a slaughterhouse  so I decided that I will only have an operation if something drops off :D OR my life depends on it!

Last year I had a total hysterectomy as I had a tumour in my uterus.

When I was six I had the bottom lobe of my left lung taken away due to a cavity.

I had surgery on my eye muscle around 1970.

I have regular colonoscopies which usually result in polyps being removed, but that's only minor. :)

My MD is muttering about making me endure one of these ..... so your opinion is its a minor deal in comparison to other "stuff"? Just curious.

I have had 2 surgeries for skin cancer.....both on my face:( Luckily both done by a wonderful plastic surgeon....you can't see the one on my chin, unless I point it out.....I had 17 stitches. My 2nd surgery was on my forehead......luckily I wear bangs since this one was much more extensive. I had a total of 78 stitches.....the basal cell was much smaller but it was laying at an ackward angel and so it took much more to remove.....28 stitches inside and 50 outside. It was a big mess, I had 2 black eyes and I was numb for just over a year from the surgery. I am thankful that both cases turned out to be basal cells!!!

I had my tonsils out when I was 3, my appendix out when I was 6. At age 22 I had my gall bladder out (the old, painful type of surgery, not the new laprascopic type). Ds was delivered by C-section but I had #1 and #3 naturally. At 25 a complete hysterectomy due to repeated ruptured ovarian cysts and endometriosis. Then, about 11 yrs. ago I had back surgery to remedy 2 ruptured discs. I hope to never ever have another surgery of any kind.
