I always go to the furniture first. Then I look at antique kitchenwares.

I don't really antique, but look at desks, paper products like stationery, calligraphy stuff, etc. if they have it.

I typically go straight to depression glassware, then pottery/ceramics, china etc. Then I like to lookover crystal and silver. Then costume jewelry. lol I love antique kitchenware. I can spend forever looking over all the pieces. I enjoy vintage Valentine's too. Oh man, I just love it all and have so much fun just poking around. I used to go often and spend hours.

I love looking at furniture too, but usually look at that last since it's larger. I spend a lot more time on smaller pieces. I love spotting a bargain. I always go into an antique store knowing that no dealer knows what everything is "worth". :D

Kitchenware for me too.:) Love to hold the stuff in my hands and wonder about the person who used it over & over again.

I usually look for lamps first. My dad is lamp crazy, so I love to be able to find one that he doesn't have--although THAT is not easy. Then I look at furniture, kitchenware, and I *LOVE* vintage clothing so it is definitely a plus if the shop has that too:)

My dad is an antique dealer in California. He used to have a rather large shop but he sold it so he could spend time on renovation of his house--a 150-year-old Victorian. He had (and still has) beautiful stuff in his shop, but no surprise bargains....my dad knows what EVERYTHING is worth! Sometimes if I'm shopping at a antique store or a estate sale I will call him and ask him if the prices I'm seeing are good, or higher than they should be:)

Quilts for me. I love old beat-up, worn, quilts. If I see any when I walk in I head there first, otherwise, I just start and the door and work my way around a store.

Me too. I start at the door and work my way to the back and then back to the front. I have to look at everything.

Mostly I love to look at Mission style furniture and glassware, as well as antique kitchen ware. I'm always on the lookout for milk bottles from my grandfather's dairy (I've found 1 in a flea market here, 200 miles away!), and depending on the day will check out boxes of photos to see if I recognize anyone.
