When did you start potty training your child and how did it go?

With my girls (4 and 5) I started at 2. They trained well. Took 6-8 weeks to get it totally down except at nighttime. With my son now 2, we are working on it, but he still likes to go if he has anything on. While naked, he does a great job!

Well, DD# 1 started about 2 or a few months thereafter. It took her 6 months to get totally trained at night and all. DD#2 will be wearing pull ups to her wedding since she refuses to use the potty.

I think about age 2-3....I was probably a bit late doing it. My older DD was really trained (at peeing anyway) by her girl cousins from Texas one weekend when they were down for my MIL's funeral.

Getting them to potty correctly too a long frustrating time though.

My DD turned 2 in April, and I truly don't think she's ready yet, so we haven't pushed the issue. She has a potty and sits on it when mommy is either using the restroom or getting ready to go somewhere. Once she did #2 on the adult potty, because I realized she was starting to go and we got her there in time. Otherwise, though, she doesn't tell me when she's wet, doesn't always tell me when she's dirty, doesn't show any interest.... so we're waiting a little while longer to start training.

Ryan was close to 3. Main thing is not to push to quick and don't make too big a deal out of it. Kids have a way of doing just the opposite of what they think we want them to do.

My kids were all about two as well... DD1 was a breeze.. Handed her a pack of six underpants and in two hours she had wet all the underwear. :o She never went pee in her underwear again, and once she had number two in the toilet.... She NEVER wanted that near her body again... :D Both sons were also easily trained for number one.. Number two took a little longer, but not much. I am just now getting to DD2 and I had forgotten how hard it was to keep following her around incase of accidents....LOL Oh well....

We started dd1 when she was about 2 1/2, mostly because my in-laws were pressuring us (and her). She's just now catching on very well. We've had about a week with no accidents whatsoever (she's almost 3 1/2 now) We still put her in pull-ups for bedtime though. We just had to back off and let her decide it was time. That was my plan anyway so I'm not letting anyone pressure me with dd2. I hope
