took a nice drive

We went for a nice drive to the lake today. I just enjoy seeing new places. I like peeking into yards and just seeing drive by "snapshots" of how other people live. I like seeing the goofy things in the middle of fields too. I've seen things like an old ice cream truck and a school bus just sitting in the middle of a field. I like seeing the barns that are painted in a fun way. There's one here with a gigantic smiley face painted on it. My favorite thing (other than spotting animals) are trees. I love the old gnarly and giant trees. This is my favorite time of year to look for them because they don't have all their leaves yet. There's just something about a lone majestic tree in the middle of nowhere that makes me feel peaceful.

We came home and then tackled some yardwork. Needed to mow, rake, and pick up sticks. I need to cutback some tree branches and start hauling away some more brush. ugh
