I need a set desperately.
I'd like a nice set something like this. http://www.cutleryandmore.com/

A set of those steak knives in the block. Supposed to sit on the countertop. Plus other knives including some bought at Wal Mart.

A hodgepodge collection in my drawer. Nothing fancy. I do have a couple of favorite pieces though that I will use over anything else.
I had a cheapie set in a block, but tossed the block out and put the knives in a drawer. Gabe just bought one nice new knife not long ago, but otherwise our knives are pretty pitiful. :(

I received a good deal one day on an 8 pc. set of knives in the block. They're just what we needed and we use them all the time.
Bright Blessings!

We just bought a set of Henckels Professional or something like that. We've lived together for 15 yrs now and always just had a hodgepodge of horrible, cheap knives. :)

We still don't have a good set of knives. I bought a bread knife and that's been it. Someday....
As a gift, I bought Gabe 3 Wusthoff knives. I LOVE them. LMAO I know seems like a gift for me, but believe me he chops and cuts much more often than I do.

I think that's a great gift, even if it's for a guy. He'll probably do a whole lot more when he gets a few good knives.
We should get a nice set of steak knives some time, but I really don't like sharp knives in the house with the kids. We put these 3 on the highest shelf in the cabinet and I still worry.
Michelle, I hear ya. Married 10 yrs and knives were never in the budget. Often times even when we could afford them, it just wasn't a priority. I had a gc for Amazon and am so glad I got them when I did. There's no way any money would go toward something like that any time soon again. But I'd definitely like a set of steak knives and at least one more knife like a bread knife to round off the set.

I am also worried about my kid whenever I saw such kind of sharp things. Plus everyday I read that such and such kid stubbed another kid in school. So with that kind of news I always worried about them as well.

We just bought a set from Cutco and they are awesome knives. They were expensive but well worth the money and the time saving up the money to get them.
