I can only post this here, Mom is a member everywhere else. LOL Last year for my parents anniversary I made them a quilt for the car and a tote that it fits in that also doubled for a seat cushion. Well while they liked it, I don't think it has seen the light of day. So now I need help, throw out some ideas for me please, what can I get or make them for thier anniversary this year?

I don't have much time either, thier anniversary is May 26th, then Mom's birthday is June 14th with Father's Day on June 19th. It is getting really hard to do for them.

This anniversary is 48 years, and my Mom will be 71. What do you get for people that have everything?

Do they like to go out? I got my mom gift certificates for restaurants or spas. I also got dh's grandmother gift certificates to the local dinner theatre. If they have a fave thing they like to do, maybe for that?

I think at that age, probably gift certificates to fine restaurants or even to plant nurseries is the ideal thing. Oh I just thought of something else. Do they use long distance much? You could always get a gift certificate for that too.

Do they enjoy old movies? There are so many that are out now from way back when. Maybe a movie basket with popcorn, movies, a couple bottles of coke and maybe even a couple tickets to movie night at a theatre. Bring back the old memories for them when they first met.

Dee I'm the same has you. My mom is 79, has all she needs and its always so hard to buy anything for her.

Does she enjoy gardening? I used to get my grandmother blooming perennials.

I was going to suggest food, too. Either a gift certificate for a favorite restaurant, or maybe stock their freezer with some favorite meals that you've made for them.

Oh yes Mom loves gardens, just not the gardening part! LOL She has the supervisors position. Come to think of it she is the supervisor in just about everything in thier home! :D

All your suggestions are great, thank you so much. :)

Your gardening idea helped me Sara, we have a statue place close by, maybe one of those for thier garden would be nice? Not necessarily a naked lady ;) but something nice or hey I think thier bird bath broke during the winter, maybe I can get one of those! WooHoo, gotta go check that out. :D

Just went to Dollar General and got Father's Day taken care of. They had these large foldable coolers and one was in camo! Perfect for dad when he goes fishing, he can take his lunch and drinks right with him.

You know CJ, you're right. If I see a naked lady that looks good, I may just get it. I don't think I'll shock my parents, but I bet it will raise some neighbors eyebrows! LOL

You know what Dee, the heck with the neighbours. If its a beautiful piece and you know your parents will enjoy it - go for it. We only live once and why worry about those neighbours. I can't wait to see what you get. :D

My grandparents look forward to gift cert. every year. To the movies, resturants, Meijers, ect. Anyplace they go on a regular basis. That would be my suggestion.
