Last weekend DD and I spent the day at a community garage sale in a town about fifteen minutes from our home. It was a gorgeous sunny day- perfect weather for parking and walking a few blocks at a time.

I found DD some summer clothes and a Dora the Explorer doll for a grand total of $2.75. I also bought her a play make-up table (beauty parlor style-- it has a play sink and mirror on a counter-top style stand) for $5. It needs cleaned up a bit, but it's in good shape. I'm thinking of putting it in MY bedroom so that she can play there while I'm getting ready to go somewhere-- maybe then she'll leave my makeup and things alone. :) (Wishful thinking, I know!)

I agree, I love community garage sales. You can get most of your shopping done on one day.

Great deals Amy.

I love garage sales also. We went to one in another town when we were ebaying (selling) so much years ago. The sale (townwide) was almost over. They wanted to get rid of their stuff so gave us boxes of it. Filled our van as full as it would go top to bottom and front to back. We sold some of it on ebay and gave other away plus what was for our own use.

I need to start yard saling again. I love the hunt for a bargain, plus, I get up early and leave the rest of the family at home! :D

Oooh! I love them too.

Yesterday, I spent a lot of $$$ at the local garage sales. Some highlights:

* American Girl doll -- Samantha -- for $55.
* 2#, 3#, and 1# weights -- $7.
* about 14 vases for our Scout troop leader, who needed some for a scout function -- $6
* 7 pieces of Tupperware -- $7.
