There is something very rewarding in being able to take something meant for the trash heap and give it new life.

There are so many things that I am watching out for on the curbside!

folding wooden doors, I want to make a cd tower and a room divider that holds pictures!

A unique picnic type basket to hold photos ( I saw this in the current issue of Women's Day magazine and loved it)

An old window with the sill still on it to put on a wall in my kitchen that has now window. I will cut circular holes in the sill to hold plants.

I am waiting for folks to do some spring cleaning!

Oooh I have to agree. We don't have the opportunity to pick up items along the curbside, but we do have town wide yard sales. I love being able to pick up items and re-decorate them or use them in my decorating of my home.

Talking about an old window. I picked up a Manitoba gardening magazine yesterday and in it someone had used an old window to frame a bunch of flowers outside in their flower garden. It was so pretty and actually looked like a picture you would have bought at a store.

Neat ideas ladies.

I'm like you too Robin, love creating and making unique items for in our home and around it.

A homeschooling friend/neighbour, her husband works at the dump and oh my, you wouldn't believe the beautiful treasures she has.....wood dressers, armoires, so much that just need a little fix or sanding/stain. She started collecting old wood windows with the glass still in them....put a back on them and used it as a picture frame...a really neat look and very inexpensive to do. They have four children and the one window with 4 panes has a picture of each child in it.

You ladies are going to be sooooo jealous. My dh works for the Township Road Crew. He is always bringing me home stuff. Last week I got an old white porceline pot with the lid, AND an original (OLD) pie safe, in very good condition. Just needs sanded down, and one new hinge on one of the doors. :D

I see things around our farm that I think would make neat "somethings" but my creativity fizzles out there. I usually can't get to what the something might be!

There are a couple of old iron house jacks lying under a tree that I envision as lamp bases..... I just have to sneak them past my husband and transform them before he notices. He'll think the jacks are too junky to have potential.
