DH said hed help me with a few veggis if i wanna plant them....Im on bedrest (supposed to be on complete bedrest, but i have to come on and check emails lol) so hes got to do 99 percent of the work....anyway.....
I live in Texarkana Texas which is right on the line for Zone 7&8 (NorthEast Texas)
So its been warm here and I was wondering is it too late to plant any seeds? should i plant small plants instead? What grows good here? And our soil has alot of clay in it, what would grow good in that type of soil?
Thanks so much yall.....

Wendy, even though it is still only mid May, I think I would go with plants in your case. I know they are more expensive, but if you start out with plants then you won't have to be concerned with your length of growing season. Now is a great time to set out plants.
I'm north of you quite a way, but I would think tomatoes, all the melons, and green peppers and cucumbers would be plants that will grow well in your climate and also still be available at a garden center. And if you decide to go with seeds, I'd check the number of days to maturity on the package and get those that have shorter seasons. There are some short season corn varieties that you could plant.
As for the clay, if you can swing the cost of it, buy some bagged compost and work some of that into the hole and the dirt for filling back in the hole.
You could even just grow a couple of tomato plants in containers in your yard or on your patio/deck.
I hope this helps. Keep your garden smallish this year --- you are going to have your hands full!

Anywhere from March and April until June is the planting season for lower OK and TX (I'm a bit above you).
Plants would be your best bet as it is a bit late, but they may be harder to find this time of year. Our Wal Mart didn't even have much in the way of vegie garden plants this year. I barely managed to get any yellow squash and couldn't even find the seeds for them.
