UGH - anyone have any solutions to a plugged sink?

I don't want to use chemicals if I don't have too. Its too old to take apart and were not in the position to do that at this time.

1) A plunger
2) A snake (you will have to unscrew the plug)

After you get it unclogged, you can use the Magic Formula from the Michael Holigan show:

"Kitchen Sink Magic Formula (Segment t29-4-96)

Al Carrell: When you have to get these things out after a kitchen sink clog, you're in a heap of trouble. It never has to happen. Try preventive maintenance. And I've really got a great formula for you. Use once cup of baking soda, one cup of table salt and a quarter cup of cream of tartar. Combine those three ingredients into a jar, and then put the lid on and shake it up real good to mix it. Now to use this magic formula, you use only one fourth of a cup of it directly down the drain. Follow that immediately with two cups of boiling water. And it's just that easy.

Let me repeat the formula for you. It's one cup of baking soda, one cup of table salt and a fourth cup of cream of tartar. Put them in a fruit jar, shake them up real good to mix and then use only one fourth of a cup at a time directly down the sink. And then follow that by two cups of boiling water. And if you do this about once a month, you'll never have any problems with your kitchen sink and it's going to smell better."

PM or email me with specifics and I will ask dh. He's working today, but I can ask him if he calls me or I will ask him for sure when he gets home this evening.

Try sprinkling baking soda down the sink drain and then follow with vinegar.

A plunger is the best way to get that unclogged! I hope you got results!

If it is a hair clog you can use a small fork such as a fondue fork to reach down and get the hair out. That is the only way I have been able to get a hair clog out. It wraps or drapes itself over the metal piece that attaches to the plug and nothing else works. That is how ours usually clogs anyway.

We use plunger or snake.
