I'm not sure what I want, other than I want a fan with the lights. We had a cheap one that was here when we purchased our home, but the chain broke so often, dh couldn't fix it the last time it broke.
What type of lighting do you have in your kitchen? Do you like it or would you prefer getting another one and if so what type?

My kitchen/utility area is an ugly dark green walled, dark green carpeted semi nightmare. We plan to pull out the carpet and put in linoleum sometime during the summer if we can.
Repaint some too.
I have a big 5 gallon white paint can (new) from Wal Mart for all this stuff.

A teeny bit of remodeling was done to the house before we purchased it. One thing the guy did was put recessed lights in the kitchen (and some other places in the house). There is also a fixture over the sink - I like it, dh does not. Other than that, there is a paddle fan (ceiling fan with no light kit) between the kitchen and dining room (they are open to one another). It will definitely be replaced and we might move it into the kitchen area.

We have recessed lighting in ours. It' nice as they were put in specific spots to highlight those areas. Puts enough light where I need to work.
In our eating area we have a 3 way lamp that hangs over the table. It's from our old house & can be raised & lowered too. :)

In my kitchen/dining room I have two ceiling fans with lights. I also have a little lamp that can be turned on for more light in one area, or as ambience at night with the big lights off. I am very happy with the lighting, except that the two fans dont' match, so one has got to go (or both if I can't find a matching one . . .)
