We are rearranging the rooms in our house to make our bonus room into a family room and keep the mess out of the living room. We will have to move the large sofa upstairs and leave the love seat in the living room. We have t2 grungy rocker recliners that I am going to move up I think. I am hoping to find a couple of decent arm chairs to put downstairs. I am wondering where I can go to find them? Any ideas? I have posted for a couple of things on freecycle, but I never get them.

A couple of places:

~mention it to family members and friends. Often they are wanting to get rid of something and don't know who to give it too.

~watch at yard sales. My 2 rocking chairs I have in my living room were gotten through yard sales. One I paid $4 for, the other one I got free. Both in mint condition.

~thrift stores sometimes will have them, especially places like a Salvation Army store.

I've gotten a lot of things free from my parents. Hunt for used furniture shops also.

In addition to the other ideas -- If there is a furniture consignment store in your area, that would be a good place.

I have known several people who have found furniture at the dumpster or in an alley (we have allies behind homes in several older areas in Phx). Some of these pieces are in very good condition and some need to be refinished. I don't recover or refinsh because of arthritic hands, but it is a good way to get found items to fit into your decorating style.

When shopping for your desk, you should consider its size. In most cases, the desk should measure about 8-10 feet in width and 40” deep. In the office, the authority of the individual is implied by the desk size. Aside from that, the executive’s office is also larger to accommodate visitors
