What is this thing called?

It's the mesh thing to place on top of fry pans to prevent spattering? I need a new one and heck if I can remember the name of it tonight. Spatter guard? shield? Mesh strainer? Mesh cover? :D

We call them spatter or splatter guards here :)

splatter screen is what is on the package of the ones we sell at work. if you go into one of the big housewares chain stores and describe what you need when you can't think of what it is called, the sales people should be able to figure it out. at least twice a day i get someone asking me for something that they don't know what it is called or what it looks like. they tell me what they need it to do and i have to go find it. so if you ever can't think of what something is called, just go find a sales person and tell them what you need it to do. :)
