How do you find the time to do something just for you..........

When you have a house full of kids!!! It is summer break........first day today and I think every child that lives on our cul de sac is in my house!!!!!! I normally don't mind that they are here but I have worked so hard these last couple of weeks (dd graduated high school, had to get the house spotless for grad party...) and I was looking forward to a little quiet me time this week!!!!! No such luck, I guess I have to wait until everyone goes to bed!

Well, I get up an hour or two before everyone else, and on Sunday nights I take a bubble bath, and dare anyone to come through that door or yell at me. lol

I get up earlier than the kids to have my quiet time or I also have quiet time once they are in bed. I'm a night owl so its easier for me to do the night thing rather than the morning. However, I will do a early morning rise if I haven't had a quiet time the night before.

I need my quiet time and make time for it each day.

When my kids were younger it was far harder and I seldom made time for me. I found though through the years I need that quiet time, else I'm not any good for anything within a couple days.

I have mine early morning too, before they wake up. I spend an hour or two on computer, then start lunch and other things. I have an 8 year old and 5 year old (both girls) plus some neighbor kids are around a lot.

Next fall, they will both be at school from 7:30 AM to 3 PM and I'm hoping I can get my house and life in better shape.

I just wish they didn't destroy the house so much. I can't keep a couch or chairs in the living room as they tear it up, sometimes cut them with scissors, spill nail polish on them, etc. I can't keep stuff away from them plus they lose all my things: pens, tape, scissors, drinking cups, etc. and plaster bandaids everywhere...so you never have anything when you need it.

I do the early morning thing too! It seems easier that way

I get up earlier than everyone else and read my messageboards, reply to email, read, sew, whatever I feel like doing.

It's easier for me to get time for myself now that my children are older (8 and 5). They often play together and don't want me involved LOL
