Gabe wants to take the kids skating on the rail trail (bike path here). I haven't had skates on in about 8 years. lol I'm afraid to even buy a pair because I'm not sure I can still skate. lol

I'm in my 40's Sara, but you have to add a falling down laughing smilie! :D

I have NO sense of balance and can't even ride a bike, I don't think I will be getting into a pair of skates anytime soon! D:

Gabe being Canadian kinda says it all over here. The "boys" have skates and he's encouraging me to get a pair too. All I can think of is me? skating? in public? bwhahaha.

I got a pair tonight. :D If you don't hear from me for a few days, you'll know that I surely crashed and am unable to sit at my desk. :D

I hope I can at least stand and hold up a wall or something. lol

I can remember going roller skating as a kid to an indoor rink. (no roller blades back then thank goodness! ) The center was reserved for children and people that couldn't skate. I would sneak out and try to get into the rhythm of the music and going fast (hugging the wall for all I was worth) and inevitably, one of the workers there would grab my arm and escort me back to the center with all the little kids! ROFL

It's really funny, because I can remember going ice skating and I could do that, not great but I didn't fall either. lol

I loved rollerskating at the rink as a pre-teen and teen. Loved it loved it loved it. My friends and I went often and it was just loads of fun. I hadn't skated in years and tried rollerblading in my 20's and that was interesting. lol

So, fast forward to now and I popped those rollerblades on and zoooooom. I haven't laughed so hard in a while. I had so much fun. I am not too great at stopping yet and a little wobbly when I tried to, but it was just too much fun.

My kids are like skating pros and it's their first time on skates. I was so impressed and proud.

When I first put the skates on, I could barely get out of the front seat of the truck and thought oh man I think I just wasted money. I thought for sure I wouldn't even be able to stand let alone skate, but then I was off. zoooooom

I'm not good enough where I'd want anyone I know to see me. :D But I did wayyyyy better than I was expecting.

Fun fun fun. I can't wait to go again. :D I swear it took 10 yrs off my life.

Good for you Sara! I don't think I'll ever get on skates again, my knees & ankles aren't the best. Roller Derby Queen, rock on.:)

I have very little strength in my ankles. I seriously thought I'd fall on my face or the wheels would be shifting out to the sides as I tried to skate on the shoe part. lol I bought a pair with awesome support and I can't believe I was actually in motion. :D I had a helmet on just in case. lol I'm determined because I simply can't let my husband beat me at EVERYTHING. He kicks my butt in bowling, mini golf, pool, etc.

I also want so badly to just DO new things. I've been a real heel about some things. Gabe was really active when I met him and I have a bad shoulder, so haven't been able to do many fun things over the years. It felt great to just be so silly and laugh.

I LOVE rollerblading, although I'm terrible at it. Add that to the fact that I'm married to a hockey player who is most at home while gliding on a sheet of ice on a 1/8" blade, and I look even worse!

I used to have rollerblades, and I think I might have sold them about 7 years ago. I wish I hadn't because Julia recently got roller skates and I would love to go out and skate with her.

My friend, Michaela, turned 33 in November and she had a roller skating party. We went to the local roller rink, where we used to have our birthday parties in 4th grade, and roller skated the afternoon away. It was so much fun! I hadn't laughed so much in a long time! It was great to see my friends, who all have these high-powered business world jobs, to just teeter around on the skates, fall down, laugh, and try it again. It reminded us what we all have in common.
