helllo everyone,

I have 3 young children who keep me on my toes all the time. There is no time to rest or even take a breather... This has given rise to unnecessary stress and tension and now I have BP which is on the higher side.. Recently I have been getting headaches too because of this .I really dont know if its normal or not But I just cant work at home.. I feel dull and lifeless and cant work properly too.How will I take care of my children now ?

hi geena,

I can understand what it can be with 3 children breathing down your neck all the time.. I have just one and he drives me up the wall so imagine 3.. For my BP problems I have been taking Dibenzyline as per the doctor's instructions and it did help me as far as my headaches are concerned. They did reduce considerably but the sweating I cant say much.. There is a slight side effect of dibenzyline (http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s3433-s-DIBENZYLINE.aspx) though.. It makes you a bit weak and one feels very drowsy too after taking this medication but at least it helped me getting down my BP and headaches.. That itself was a big relief.

Please talk to your doctor about this. High blood pressure can be very serious.

There are some ways though you can reduce high b/p:

~if your overweight, by losing 10 lbs. you can usually decrease your b/p.

~less stress. I know it's very difficult having 3 kids, however you need to take some time just for you. When our kids were young, they have "quiet time" everyday. It was only for 30 mins., however they needed to spend it on their bed with a book, game or a few toys. During that 30 mins. I took time to just relax (quilt, read a book or have a cup of tea). It was my lifesaver and really helped with the stress. Also when our kids were young, they had a bedtime of 8 p.m. That way, my dh and I had some quiet time for ourselves and with each other.

You don't mention how old your kids are. From the age of 2 and up they can help with the housework. They can fold a few clothes, make their own beds and pick up their own toys. It's a part of being a family and if you start them young it becomes a habit they will carry throughout their lives. Your clothes might not be folded the way you like, or the bed done the way you'd like, however it's less work for you.
